Goodnight last thought in this head
Goodnight little girl, I think you're dead.
The faceless action that took your life will be forgotten
But people will forever talk about your faithless temptation.

Didn't you think it would be this way?
You're the one that always said you didn't have anything to say.
Your depression took you down deeper than you thought you wanted to go,
down in the depths of your mind, Lower than low.

Goodnight to smiles and dreams
No one saw this coming,
No one heard your screams
Because inside is where you wished to stay.

Goodnight to the sun
Watch it go down with a smile and a wave.
Goodnight patience, you took all it gave.
You lived through times of abandoment and pain
but in the end, it's you who let go of faith.

It just doesn't seem right that I should have to say goodnight
To one I loved so much,
and one that was truly close to my heart.
but I'll let you free from my head,
as I go on my way
Goodnight to you little girl, I think you're dead.

That's really impressive.

Such a normally pensive moment and the speaker is so confident, so casual. Oh well, here's the end...

Cripes that's good... you almost hear a gunshot at the end, just because it seems as though it beliongs.

beautiful. i can relate to this sooo much.. the part that says

man... so many times i've wanted to say goodnight to myself, and this poem really touches me... it's always good to know that you aren't the only one that has thoughts like this, comforting... as for the poem itself... just the pointed explanation and description, the completely direct emotion, is very cool... i like how it just seems like it's an outside observer, looking down on the girl, voicing narrative... it flows kind of like that, anyways... looking at yourself from outside, looking at what you're about to do without regret, and without joy... :+fav:
